Why we're obsessed with moss bowls.
There's something about bringing the outdoors in. A little greenery can make a space feel calmer, fresher and more inviting. Research suggests that being around nature can help reduce stress, improve mood and support wellbeing.
Our moss bowls bring all that natural texture and colour into your everyday space, with absolutely no maintenance.
Beautiful, a little unusual and perfectly happy being left alone.
Six reasons to love
No maintenance. No watering, no pruning, no fuss. Your moss bowl looks after itself. You've got better things to do.
Dust free. Preserved moss doesn't attract dust in the same way as many household surfaces. One less thing to clean. You're welcome.
Long lasting. We're talking years, not weeks. With the right care, your moss bowl can last 8+ years. Definitely not a short-term fling.
Good for you. A little greenery can do wonders for your mood. Studies suggest that having greenery around can help reduce stress and promote a sense of calm. And who doesn't need a bit of that?
Allergy friendly. With pollen removed during preservation, our moss bowls are a lovely option for those who prefer their greenery without the sneezing.
Non-toxic. Preserved moss is not poisonous when touched or eaten (not recommended!) and considered safe for use in homes, offices and other spaces.
How we keep the moss looking fabulous
Once gathered, our moss goes through a four-step process to keep it looking fabulous for years. All the colour, texture and natural beauty, without any of the upkeep.
STEP ONE: A little tidy up. The moss is carefully brushed to remove pine needles, leaves and anything else that shouldn't be there.
STEP TWO: Drying out. Excess moisture is removed to prevent mould and decay. Nobody wants that.
STEP THREE: The magic bit. Water is replaced with glycerine, a natural substance that helps the moss keep its lovely soft texture and shape.
STEP FOUR: A splash of colour. Some of our moss gets a little colour boost using natural food dyes to replace any vibrancy lost during preservation.
And that's how it's done! Beautiful moss that's ready to settle into its new home. No watering required.
